As I sat in philosophy and let my eyes meander around the room I came to the realization that we were only talking about triangles, and angles, and something about brides….and a bird. The I found my self thinking “Who is wearing the ridiculous amount of cologne?!” And finally I decided to free myself from this chokingly boring lecture, packed up my stuff and briskly left the room. Freedom. I had been thinking about a secret stair well I found sometime back for the past three weeks. With a little jump I freed my hair from the straps of my backpack and made my way to the wonderfully hidden Geography building located discreetly behind the Music building’s parking garage. The air was thick with the smell of green, life, and floating pollen searching for their resting place. With creeping ivory along the cracked brick walls and flowing branches over the roof, the tiny little building looked more like a house than an administration center. I quickly looked over my shoulder to make sure no wondering eyes had spotted my trespass-ery on goings and slunk behind a rather stout oak tree. The wind picked up and blew across the limbs of the tree making it bend and groan; a groan that sounded oddly enough like my grandfather rolling around his overly stuffed recliner during one of his many afternoon naps. The deep tree groan held my feet to the ground and kept me in my slightly hunched pose, while the possibility of getting caught raced through my mind. After I loosed myself from the ancient oaky grasp, I stepped back around the house building and reached out for a thin piece of rusty metal. It twisted and turned up to the roof in a stair like shape with its end immersed in the green of the surrounding canopy. A small smirk edged its way in the corner of my lips and I pulled my self up to the first creaky, crumbly step. In the most squirrel like fashion that I could muster, I scurried up the outdoor stairs and pushed my way through the thick foliage, a result of the glorious coming of spring, and what I saw was absolutely magical…
…if only I had left my chair.
If only!
